Hailing from Eastleigh, this is a band whose new album is their third – you may not know this – but once you've heard this, you'll be searching the internet for the other two, mark my words.......They're an angry bunch – well, trio, although you'd think there were about 6 of them on this – in the sense that this album allows them to vent their lyrical frustration on the state of the world as it is today, so the one thing you'll find running through the songs' veins is brilliant, aware, direct and superbly written compositions. What you'll also find is a sound as wide as the sky, deep as the oceans and vast as the Grand Canyon – the production alone, is stunning. Utilising a scorching array of guitars, electronics-as-backdrops, drums and bass, they create anthems – nearly every song has a massive chorus that throws in the kitchen sink when it comes to density of sound. There's a definite Devin Townsend feel to some of it, although not as electronic and not as hardcore, for this band know what a melody is, and they're not afraid to use it.The lead vocals have a suitable air of drama and emotion, brilliantly sung by a guy who knows what emotional angst and deep feeling awareness is all about, that strong, strident voice soaring out above the maelstrom of instrumental forest fires that's blazing all around. Then, like I said, the song will rise up into this monster of a hook, or chorus, and the whole things burns as bright as the sun and every bit as hot.Twelve magnificent songs over 55 glorious minutes, all delivered with twists and turns, light and shade, conviction and authority, fill your head with rock and your heart with adrenaline, as this band deliver a full-on sea of massive sounding, contemporary indie-rock that wipes the floor with almost everybody out there in the same musical arena.
